3 Tips to Finish A Book Without Losing Motivation

3 Tips to Finish A Book Without Losing Motivation

If you love to write books, it is great. We are on the same page. Nice to meet you, and welcome to this site. I know that many people have been struggling to finish what they have started because they lose motivation before it even ends. Even I hate to admit it, it’s the most terrible thing we could do.

I don’t blame you for that, though. I have already been there before, but luckily, I have learned how to deal with it more easily, so today I want to share it with you guys about it too. With these three incredible tips I have experienced myself, I am sure you will finish your books successfully at the end.

1. Falling in Love with the Characters in Your Stories

Fall in love with your charaters

A lot of people stop writing their books because they don’t find it interesting to write it anymore, and according to many writers, it is because they don’t fall in love with the characters they write about. It sounds cliché, but it’s true. It’s like when you watch a movie, you will lose interest when you don’t even like the characters themselves. So, you need to write and describe your characters the ways you want them to be, and actually love them along the process of writing their stories. By doing this, you will feel excited every time you start writing, like every time you see your crush.

2. Choose Your Favorite Genre to Write

Write your favorite genre

I know some genres are popular than others but don’t try to write something you are not passionate about because you will likely to lose interest along the way, or you will find it’s not worth it because your work is not as good as the others. For example, if you love to write poems, but you see that many people love to read romance books, so you change genre because you think romance books have a big market. It’s not true. Even many people love romance ones, there are people out there who love to read poems as well. Remember, being yourself is more important. When you are passionate about something, you are likely to be good at that. If you love poem, try to improve your skills and be a great poet out there.

3. Set A Goal

Set a specific goal

Falling in love with your characters: Checked
Choose your favorite genre: Checked
The last thing you need to do is setting a goal. Setting a specific goal is important, and it will help you to achieve more than you sometimes expect. Bring a note and a pen. Write your own goal.
For example, I will write 10,000 words a week, or 1000 words a day.
By doing that, you will have more concentration, and reach your goal more effectively.
