Five Noteworthy Steps to Become A Great Writer

Five Noteworthy Steps to Become A Great Writer

Before becoming good at something, you have to know the basic forms of it. Writing is similar to other things. You should know these five steps before becoming an adequate writer.

1. Read a ton of books

Read as many books as you can

No matter how good you think you are in writing, if you don’t read, you impossibly can be a better writer. To write a great book, and makes it succeed as your future career, every writer should learn how to read a lot. Read doesn’t mean just READ for fun if you desire to become an author in the future! You need to observe how the author of the book write their books and learn to follow their steps.

2. Write Everyday

Practice every day

It may sound cliché, but it’s really essential if you want to become a writer. Remember, persistence makes you better. When I say you need to write every day, I don’t mean you should continue writing your story every time or everywhere you go, carrying your books or laptop with you, or pressure yourself to continue your book every day. You can start writing little by little. It can be a note to yourself, your journals, or something you feel you want to express in words. JUST WRITE!

3. Just Write

Just go for it!

It’s similar to the second step, but it also has a whole different point you should notice. Let say, you want to become a writer, but you don’t start writing a book or anything because you think you are not good enough to write a book. Maybe, you want to write in English, but you are not a native English speaker, so you are afraid that you make a lot of grammar mistakes or grammar structures, but guys, let me tell you that even native English speakers make mistakes. No one is perfect, but the important thing is you want to improve your skills or not. If you do, don’t feel ashamed of your mistakes because one day those mistakes are the ones that make you become better.

4. Getting Feedbacks

Getting comments from fellow writers

I know this step is a bit harder for you because when you start writing a book or a novel for the first time, you will likely feel self-conscious to show your work to someone else to read. Let’s alone, having them giving feedback to you. Exactly, that’s what I felt when I first wrote my first book. I didn’t even tell my friends that I started writings it but don’t worry, guys, you still have choices.

You can publish it on many different apps or websites that readers don’t know who you are. There are tons of it out there. Wattpad is the best example. You can publish and ask your readers for feedback on your books or stories. Who knows that one day you could become a famous author on Wattpad, right? Or even get your story paid and earn some bucks.

5. Finding the motivation

Seek for motivation

Motivation is important. If you lose it, you won’t finish your book. So, to get motivation, you have to have a goal. You have to set a goal to yourself that you will do it no matter how difficult it is; you will continue doing it until it’s done. I know you may lose motivation along the way because you find it hard to earn money from it.

You need money to spend on your daily life, or worse you are broke right now and have no hope or, maybe you find many incredible authors out there who you think are more talented than you. Guys, if you face these predicaments, don’t feel bad about yourself because many famous authors feel that way before their books take off, but the tricks are they use their difficulties to be their motivation instead of quitting.
